ABSTRACT
To visualize three-dimensional models and simulate the displacements of discontinuous rigid bodies as well as the deformations between blocks in reality, a new node for virtual reality modeling language(VRML) in replace Transform is defined by JavaScript. Some VRML application examples in the context of pre- and post-process of numerical analysis are given in this paper. Constitutive models to describe time-dependent behavior of a rigid-body interface are presented in explicit numerical forms. The viscoelastic characters of the material of a rigid-body interface are modeled based on Maxwell model, Kelvin model, and Burgers model. Some tips on the implementation of these models are also provided. Examples that verify these formulations and illustrate possible applications are also presented.
