ABSTRACT |
Through the analysis to the different methods used to calculate foundation modulus, we found that the calculating results of foundation modulus respectively from Biot and Vesic are different greatly with the change of foundation width, height and Poisson Ratio. A new method is presented in this paper to calculate foundation modulus under different conditions which are gotten through establishing the matrix of using functions of highways to site types. The analysis on the reflection of various factors to foundation modulus indicates that the presented method is fitting for the calculation of foundation modulus in highway foundation design.
