Three-Dimensional Visualization of CCSD Well Hole for Further Research

 ABSTRACT

A software system for three-dimensional (3D) visualization of the well hole has been developed to reveal the geological features of Chinese Continental Scientific Drilling (CCSD). The software processes the original data first. Then it calculates the coordinates at each level of the well based on a designed data structure. Finally, the 3D well visualization is shown. The software is a general tool that can present the 3D view of any other wells with relevant data. It is also a visualization base for further research.
