Theoretical Discussion on Coefficient of Earth Pressure at Rest Based on the Stress State

 ABSTRACT

In order to research the coefficient of earth pressure at rest, this paper, taking the sand of natural accumulation as the research object, analyzes its critical stress state and deduces the coefficient of earth pressure at rest of consolidated soil in natural state through the mathematical and mechanical methods. The conclusion, compared with the norm as well as sand soil and cohesive soil, indicates that the coefficient of earth pressure at rest has good agreement with commonly used expression, which will provide certain significance for similar research and engineering application.
