Dr. Faisal Hj. Ali is a professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He obtained his B.Eng. (Hons) and PhD from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom. He has been actively involved in research particularly in areas of ground improvement, partial saturated soil and slope stability. He has been involved in preparation of some Malaysian Standards and he was the chairman of the Skill Standard Committee for Site Investigation (CIDB, Malaysia). He has written more than 140 technical publications in journal and conference proceedings.
