Copyright Transfer Agreement


A manuscript entitled________________________________________________

 ("the work") has been submitted by the undersigned author for 
publication in the Electronic Journal of Geotechnical Engineering 
("the Journal").

The Author transfers to the Journal the exclusive rights contained 
in the copyright of the work, including but not limited to a 
worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to publish 
the work in the Journal, its electronic archive, its paper archive, 
or any collection of the Journal's works in any form whatsoever.

The Author represents and warrants that the work is original and 
that he/she is the author of the work, or otherwise has the authority 
and power to execute this agreement. If the work was prepared jointly, 
the author agrees to inform the co-authors of the terms of this 
agreement and obtain their permission to sign on their behalf. 
The author warrants that the work has not been published before.

The author retains all proprietary rights other than copyright, such 
as patent rights. The author also retains the following rights:

1. The right to make oral presentations of the work.
2. The right to make copies of the work for the author's use in 
   teaching and lecturing.
3. The right to include the work, after publication, in a book 
   written by the author or a collection of his work.
4. The right to make and distribute copies of the work within the
   institution that employs the author.
5. The right to use any parts of the text, figures, and tables from
   the work for any purpose, including creating derivative works.
