Available Geotechnical Position:

(Assistant Professor)

The Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, invites applicants for a lectureship (equivalent to assistant professor) in the field of Geotechnology, in the Faculty of Civil Engineering. The applicant should have a PhD, with an interest in one or more of the following research directions: Foundation Engineering, Soil Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering, Engineering Geology, Analytical and Numerical Techniques, Experimental Techniques. He will be expected to lecture at the undergraduate and post graduate level, and to initiate, carry out and supervise research. As instruction at the Technion is in Hebrew, a basic knowledge of this language is desirable.

The position is for three years, with a possible upgrade to a tenure-track position at the end of that time.

The Technion is the leading technological institute in Israel, and is presently the only university in Israel which offers degrees in Civil Engineering. The Civil Engineering Faculty numbers 60, and presently enrols over 1,200 undergraduate students and about 250 post graduates.
