MARINE GEOMECHANICS LABORATORY
UNIVERSITY OF RHODE ISLAND

The Marine Geomechanics Laboratory has an opening for a GRA to become part of a research team studying seabed processes in deep water Gulf of Mexico. The project is funded principally by the National Science Foundation with supplemental sponsorship by several oil companies and two consulting firms. The remainder of this third year project (1998-99) will concentrate on experimental geotechnical studies of recently recovered sediment samples from the study sites. The final two years will focus on analysis and modeling to study downslope and other processes in this complex region.

The position is available immediately and includes summer support as well as the usual academic stipend and tuition.
