Geotechnical Engineering Faculty Position at Polytechnic University
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering invites applicants for a one year visiting Assistant or Associate Professor in geotechnical engineering starting Fall 1996. It is expected that a search for a regular tenure-track faculty position starting Fall 1997 will be launched next year.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. with specialization in Environmental Geotechnology. Preference will be given to applicants with relevant professional work experience.
Polytechnic University is a leading technological university in the New York metropolitan area, with campuses in Brooklyn, Long Island, and Westchester. The University is co-sponsor of a one billion dollar urban development project with its Brooklyn campus at the core of an academic and commercial complex. The department currently has 20 full-time faculty members with external research funding of over $1 million per year. It presently enrolls 200 undergraduate and 250 graduate full and part-time students in its Brooklyn and Long Island campuses. The department offers degree program leading to B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees.
