Available Geotechnical Position: Lecturer (Assistant Professor)
The Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, invites applicants for a lectureship (equivalent to assistant professor) in the field of Geotechnology, in the Faculty of Civil Engineering. The applicant should have a PhD, with a background in either Experimental Techniques, Foundation Engineering, Soil Dynamics and/or Engineering Geology. He will be expected to lecture to undergraduate and post graduate civil engineering students, and to initiate, carry out and supervise research. A basic knowledge of Hebrew is desirable.
The position is for three years, with a possible upgrade to a tenure-track position at the end of that time.
The Technion is, at present, the only university in Israel which offers degrees in Civil Engineering. The Civil Engineering Faculty numbers 60, and presently enrols over 1,000 undergraduate students, and about 250 post-graduates.
